Privacy policy

We collect only what we need, show no ads and don't sell your data. Here is what we collect and why.

Last updated: 1 November 2026

In short

You need no account to use the site. A free account is optional: it uses only your email and has no password. We never receive your payment details, because payment happens on the provider's site.

What we collect

Depending on what you do, we collect:

  • General use: Google Analytics sets cookies and sends Google which pages were viewed, the device type and approximate area. Our own counters (no cookies) record how many times courses are saved, shared or provider links pressed; they identify no one.
  • The notice before leaving for a provider: when you press “I understand” a record is kept with the time, the notice version, which course or provider, the link and page you went from, your IP address, browser and device details, language, time zone, screen size and approximate location (country and city).
  • Price alerts: your email address, if you ask for alerts. If it is never verified, it is deleted.
  • Contact and reports: what you write in a form or email, and the email or phone number you give.
  • Saved courses: your list stays on your own device. Only course numbers are sent to refresh it, never who you are. If you have an account, those course numbers are also kept with it so your list follows you to your other devices.
  • Your account: if you give your email (for an alert or to sign in) we keep that address and, once you press the link we email, a sign-in cookie (bp_session). The history of the browsers you sign in on is then linked to your account. Deleting your account from the account page erases all of it. The unsubscribe link in our emails only stops the emails.
  • Suggestions on this device: when suggestions are on, a random code kept in a cookie (bp_dev) on your browser ties together the courses and subjects you read, saved or went to, each with a score and the time. It holds no name, email address, IP address or location. You can pause it or delete it at any time on this page. If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal, nothing is recorded.

Why we collect it

The notice record exists to show that the notice was displayed and accepted before someone went to a provider's site. It helps settle complaints or disputes and prevent misuse of the site.

Other data is used to keep the site running and improve it, to send the alerts you ask for, to suggest courses based on what you looked at, and to answer your messages. Nothing is used for advertising.

How long we keep it

Notice records are deleted automatically after 365 days.

Support emails and our replies are kept to resolve the matter and as a record. Tell us if you want them deleted.

Alert emails stay until you stop them. Every alert email has a link to unsubscribe at any time.

Your suggestions history fades as it gets older and is deleted after 180 days without a visit, unless it is linked to your account.

Your account stays until you delete it. A sign-in link works for 1 hour (7 days for the first confirmation) and a sign-in lasts up to 90 days of use.

Who receives it

We do not sell data. Only the services we need to run the site receive some: Cloudflare (hosting and security), Google Analytics, Resend (sending alert and confirmation emails) and MXroute (the contact mailbox).

We may have to disclose data when the law requires it.

When you go to a provider's site

The provider's own privacy policy and terms apply there. What you enter on their site goes to them, not to us, and we cannot speak for how they handle it.

Your rights

To find out what we hold about you, correct it or have it deleted, write to hello@breakpoint.bd. To find a notice record, the approximate time and your IP address help.

You can block cookies in your browser settings and the site works the same.

Changes

If we change this policy, the date on this page is updated.
