Where the information comes from
Each course's fee, lessons, duration, language and description come from the provider's own public website. We don't write fees or descriptions ourselves.
A program on our own server reads those pages. Every site's robots.txt is respected — where it says no, we don't go. The program identifies itself (BreakpointBot) and makes no more than one request every two seconds to a site.
Today we show courses from two providers: Ghoori Learning and Bohubrihi. More are being added; a provider is only switched on after we have checked that its whole course list can be read properly.
If a read comes back incomplete or empty, it does not enter our catalogue; the last good information stays.
How often it is refreshed
Our server checks every hour which provider is due. Today each provider's whole course list is read again once a day.
If a fee changes, it reaches our catalogue on the next read. So before you enrol, check the fee on the provider's own page — what it says there is final.
What "Verified" means
When a course shows ✓ Verified, our program has seen the course on the provider's site within the last 7 days and picked up the fee and details as they were then.
It means the information was matched recently. It does not mean the course is good, and it does not mean a person has taken it.
How a course's information ages
- Verified
0 to 7 days
Seen recently on the provider's site. The ✓ mark is shown.
- Needs verification
7 to 30 days
Not seen on the site for this long. The course stays listed, without the ✓ and marked "Needs verification".
- Removed from the list
After 30 days
The course no longer appears in lists or comparisons. An old link says the course is gone and shows alternatives.
How a course gets its skill
Which courses appear on a skill page such as "IELTS" or "Graphic design" is decided two ways: the tags the provider gave, and a set of keyword rules we wrote.
- The rules run on the course title, in both Bangla and English. Course descriptions are not read.
- A provider tag counts only when the whole tag equals a rule's term.
- Syllabus topic words count only when at least two different ones match.
- School and admission-prep courses (for example HSC batches) are set apart; keyword rules do not apply to them.
The rules are automatic, so they can be wrong. When in doubt we take the cautious side: a course missing from a skill is better than a course on the wrong one. If you spot a mistake, tell us.
How "best" comparisons are chosen
The "best courses" pages are nobody's opinion. A comparison appears only for a skill with at least 3 courses. Picks come only from course facts, by one fixed rule, in five kinds of award:
- Best free — among free courses, those with a certificate first, then more lessons and more hours.
- Lowest fee — among paid courses, the lowest current fee.
- Biggest saving — the largest taka discount against the list price.
- Most content — the most lessons; if lessons aren't stated, the most hours.
- Most popular — the highest enrolment the provider reports.
Lowest fee, most content and most popular are only given when at least two courses state that fact. Ties go to the course listed first. One course can win several awards; the number beside a pick is not a ranking.
Enrolment figures are the provider's own and we can't verify them. There are no learner reviews or ratings on our site yet, so none are counted.
These comparisons are built entirely by the rule today; no human editor has reviewed them separately. That is why we never call a course "best overall". If editor picks are added later, they will be marked separately as "Editor's pick".
We don't sell courses
We don't sell courses — we give you accurate information
We don't sell any course and we don't enrol anyone. When you press “View Course” you go to the provider's own page; enrolment and payment happen there.
There are no paid placements today. No provider pays to rank higher, and the comparison rule is the same for every course.
What we can't do
- We don't judge course quality. Whether a course is good or bad is not in our data.
- Information is read automatically, so it can occasionally be wrong or out of date. Check the fee on the provider's page before you enrol.
- Not every provider is added yet. A course missing here doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
If you see a mistake, tell us
Every course page has a “Report wrong info” link. If a fee, date or description doesn't match the provider's site, tell us in a few lines; we check it against the provider's page.
